Paper & Cardboard Recycling Prices June 2017

The prices detailed are ex works, (usually baled) & are in pounds per tonne. These prices are not guaranteed and are meant to be an indicator of market prices. They are compiled by letsrecycle.com.

This is the June 2017 report which details prices up to May 2017.

UK Domestic Mill Prices

Mixed Papers: 45 – 60

Prices fell from January to August 2014. They picked up slightly in September but then dipped into October. The price range narrowed in November, with the highest prices falling and the lowest rising. Prices fell between January and March 2015, rising again in April, May and June. They remained stable in July but fell in August, September and October. The price was stable in November but increased in December and again in January. The price fell in February but recovered slightly in March. The price increase further in April. The bottom price increased in May. Prices generally increased in June,  July and again in August. The price fell in September. In October, the bottom price fell, widening prices overall. In November, the top price fell. Prices in general fell in December. The top price increased in January. The prices in general increased in February and again in March. The price increased dramatically in April. The price increased again in May.

Old KLS (cardboard): 90 – 110

Prices fell from January till June 2014 and rose slightly in July. They stayed stable in August, rising slightly in September. They fell between September and February 2015. They rose between February and July, before falling in August, September and October. The price was stable in November. The price narrowed in December, with the bottom price rising. The price remained stable in January. the price increased in February, March and April. The bottom price increased slightly in May. Prices generally increased in June, July and again in  August. The price fell in September. The price was stable in October. In November, the top price fell. Prices in general fell in December. They increased in January 2017, February and again in March. The price fell in April. The price increased again in May.

News and pams: 82 – 95

Prices dropped in February  and March but rose again in May and June. They fell in July but rose again in August. The price remained stable in September but fell in October. The price narrowed in November when prices at the top price fell. It narrowed further in December, when the bottom price rose. The top price fell in January 2016. The prices remained stable in February. They increased in March and the top price increased in April. Prices generally increased in May, June, July and again in August. The Top price fell between August and October. Prices in general fell in October, November and again in December. The price broadened in January, with the bottom price falling. The price increased in February and again in March. The price fell in April. The price increased again in May.

Over/issue news: 115 – 122

Prices dropped from January to March 2014 and then rose until June to drop again in July. They stayed the same in August and September then fell until May 2015 when they rose. This rise continued between June and September. Prices fell again in October. The price narrowed in November when prices at the top end fell. The price remained stable until January 2016, when the top price increased slightly. Prices narrowed in February, when the bottom price increased. Prices increased in April, May, June, July, August and again in September. They fell in October,  November and December. The price was stable in January. The price increased in February and again in March. The price fell in April. The bottom price increased slightly in May

Multigrade: 163 – 170

Prices rose between January 2014 and January 2015.

They fell in February and March but nearly recovered by June. They rose slightly in July but fell and narrowed in August. They narrowed further in September, with the top price falling. Prices fell in October, through to January 2017.  Prices narrowed in February, when the bottom price increased. Overall prices increased in March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November  and again in December. The price was stable in January. The price was stable in February. The price increased in March and April. The bottom price fell slightly in May.

White letter: 225 – 233

Prices rose from January to July 2014 and stayed stable until February 2015, when they rose slightly.

They were stable in March and April, followed by a small increase in May. The price remained stable in June but narrowed in July with both the higher price falling and the lower price rising. Prices feel in August. They remained stable until October, when they narrowed, with the top price falling. Prices fell further in November before remaining stable until January 2016, when they increased. They increase further in February, March, April and May. Prices were stable in June but increased in July, August, September, October, November, December and again in January. The price was stable in February and March. The bottom price fell in April. The overall price increased in May.

Export Prices

Mixed Papers: 55 – 70

Prices fell from January 2014 with a rise between July and September. They fell between October and December. They rose in January, April and May but fell in February and March. The price increased in June and again in July. The price narrowed in August, with the higher prices falling. The price fell in September. The top price increased again in October and November but fell in December, January and February. Prices increased again in March, April, May, June, July and August. Prices fell in September. The bottom price increased in October, narrowing prices overall. In November, the price increased, widening prices. The price fell in December. The price increased in December, January and February. The price widened in March, with the lower price falling and the higher price rising. The price fell dramatically in April. The price increased in May

Old KLS (cardboard): 100 – 130

Prices fell from January till June 2014 and rose slightly between July and September. They fell between September and February but slightly in March through to June 2015. The price fell slightly in July. The price fell and narrowed in August, with the higher prices falling further. The price fell in September, October and November. The bottom prices increased in December and again in January. Prices generally increased in February, March, April and May. The bottom price increased in June. Prices generally increased in July and August. They fell in September. The bottom price slightly increased in October, narrowing prices overall. Prices fell in November and again in December. Prices increased in January and again in February. The price widened in March, with the lower price falling and the higher price rising. The price fell in April. The price increased in May

News and pams: 87 – 97

Prices fell in July and August 2014, rose in September. They fell till January 2015, when they increased slightly. They fell in February and March but increased in April, May, June and July. The price narrowed in August, with the lower prices rising. The price then widened in September, with higher prices rising. Prices fell in October and November but have remained stable until January, when they fell. The prices was stable in February. They increased in March, April, May, June, July and August. The lower price fell in September. The prices was stable in October. Prices fell in November and December. The price increased in January and again in February. The price fell in March and again in April. The price increased in May.

OIN Over issue news: 117 – 130

The price range narrowed in June 2015, before rising in July. The price remained stable in August and rose slightly in September. Prices fell in October but remained stable in November. The price increased in December, January 2016, February, March, April, May, June, July and August. Prices fell in September and again in October. The price was stable in November. Prices fell in December. Prices increased in January and February. The bottom price fell in March. Prices overall fell in April and again in May.

Multigrade: 166 – 170

Prices rose from January to October 2014. Prices fell between November and February. They have increased in May and June, before falling back to the May level in July. The prices continued to fall in August, September, October, November, December and January. They increased in February, March and April. The price was stable in April. It increased again in May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December, January, February, March and April. The price fell in May.

White letter: 232 – 240

Prices rose between January and July 2014. They remained stable until October. They fell till December but rose in January, February and March. They remained stable until June, when they increased. The top price increased further in July 2015.

The price fell again in August, then remained stable until December, when it fell again. The price continued to fall in January. It remained stable in February and increased in March. The price was stable in April but increased again in May. The bottom price increased in June. Prices generally increased in July and August. The price was stable in September and October. Prices increased again in November. The top price increased in December. The top price fell in January. The bottom price fell in February and again in March. The price was stable in April. The bottom price fell in May.

Best White 2: 275 – 280

Prices remained stable between January and June 2015. They increased in June and again in July. The price remained stable until October, when prices fell. The price remained stable until January 2016, when it widened, with the bottom prices falling. The prices narrowed again in February, when the top price fell. The price was stable in March but the top price increased in April. Prices generally increased in May. Prices were stable in June. Prices increased in July, August, September and again in October. Prices increased in November but fell in December. The price increased in January. The top price increased in February. The price was stable in March. The price narrowed in April, with the bottom price falling. The price was stable in May

Merchant Prices

Mixed Papers:  5 – 20

Prices were stable January 2015 but fell in February. Prices recovered in April and May. They increased further in June and remained stable in July, August and September. The lower price dropped in October. The price has been stable until April 2016,  when the top price increased. The top price did so again in May. Prices were stable in June. The top price increased in July and again in August. The top price fell in September. The prices was stable in October. Prices increased in November. The top price increased in January, February and March. The price fell in April.

 

Old KLS (cardboard): 20 – 40

Prices fell from January till July 2014 except for a slight rise in June. They remained stable until rising in November, then remaining stable until January 2015, when they rose slightly. They have remained mostly stable until May & June, when they rose. They remained stable in July and increased in August. They remained stable in September and October. The price was stable until March, when it increased. The Top price increased further in April. The price was stable in May.  The bottom price increased in June. Prices generally increased in July. The Top price increased in August. Prices were stable in September. The Top prices increased slightly in October. Prices increased in November. The top price fell in January. Prices in general increased in February . The price was stable in March. The price fell in April.

 

News and pams: 30 – 35

Prices stayed fairly stable during 2014 before falling in January and February 2015. There were slight rises in May and June. They remained stable in July and increased in August. Prices were stable until May 2016, when the top price increased. The price increased in July and again in August. The top price fell in September. Prices were stable in October. Prices increased in November. Prices fell in December. The price was stable in January, February and March. The price increased in April.

 

Mixed coloured office waste: 45 – 55

Prices stayed quite stable from January to July 2014. They rose from July to August and then remained stable until November. They rose slightly in November, remaining stable up until February 2015, when they fell slightly. They rose in May and remained stable until July, when the price narrowed due to rising prices at the bottom end. The price narrowed further in September, due to the top price falling. It remained stable in October. The price widened in November, with the lower price dropping. The top price dropped in December. The prices was stable until March, when it increased slightly. They were stable until July, when the bottom price increased slightly. The top  price increased in August and was stable in September. Prices increased in October. The bottom price increased in November. The price has been stable since.

 

White office paper: 55 – 65

Prices rose in February and March 2014. They stayed stable until August, when they rose slightly. They remained stable until August, when top prices rose slightly. They were stable until May 2016, when the bottom price increased. The top price increased in August and again in September. The price was stable in October. The bottom price increased in  November. The price was  stable in December and January and increased in February and March. The price has been stable since.
