It’s important to teach children about being environmentally responsible and recycling plays a part in that teaching. So here are some resources to help you. It’s a good mix of education, fun and a few environmental charities to top it all off.

Recycle Zone is a fun website for teachers, children and schools. It is focused on the three Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and it has great activities as well as useful information.
Recycle Now is a website put together for teachers. There are lesson plans, a school assembly and tons of information on recycling.

Environmental Charities

A really great charity to do some fundraising for or even to work with! You could work with ERS to develop a native tree nursery or wildflower habitat at your school.
Seed stands for ‘Sustainability and Environmental Education’. Seed is a charity that helps schools to be sustainable. Just one of the things you can do through them is to get free solar panels for your school!
YPTE is The Young People’s Trust for the Environment. They work with schools to educate young people about the environment and make a difference. Their website also has lots of information and a great blog!
