Tackling Plastic in the Oceans

This week, we came across an interesting article detailing the scale of the problem of plastic in our oceans.

20th century civilisation was built on oil & the commercial success of the West was built on the plastics that became the material of choice for most industries whether focused on the consumer or on business.

Plastic is a wonderful product: it has many applications, it can be moulded, shaped & turned into more or less anything; it can withstand the elements & it can make the packaging & preservation of items a doddle. The problem with an easily created & indestructible material has been seen in recent years: we live in a disposable society where things are thrown away.

When we dispose of items without care, waste mounts up & the environment bears the brunt. Entire Recycling hate this idea. Plastic should never be waste. Plastic is valuable, plastic can be recycled & it should never come to this.

Take a look at Morgana Matus’s article & artwork below & see what you think.
