Are you tired of paying for collections that seem to be more fresh air than waste material? Annoyed at paying transportation costs to take away the stuff that you don’t want?

We can supply new and refurbished Roll Packers for sale or rental, just contact us to discuss how we can assist.

The big advantage of a roll packer is in its ability to compact waste. They are particularly good at compacting wood waste (like pallets) but they can happily compact:

  • General waste
  • Wood
  • Pallets
  • Hard plastics (ABS, WEEE plastics)
  • Metal (eg: white goods)

Roll packers look to be complex pieces of equipment but, in reality, they are simple, effective & reliable.

Roll packers can help any waste-producing business maximise rebates from recycling & minimize transportation & storage costs. Companies that produce waste can make a huge difference to their bottom line by installing machinery.

Benefits of Roll Packers

There are significant benefits to having a roll packer:

  • Reduction of waste transportation costs – roll packers can increase the tonnages of material for transportation by crushing them. They can achieve results of between 5 & 10 to 1 depending upon the  type of packer used. That means that you can reduce your skip lift costs by between 5 & 10 times as more material will go into each skip or container
  • Increase in rebates – for rebatable material, a greater rebate is due when the recycling company offering the rebate can reduce their transportation costs. If the recycling company is able to pick up 5 – 10 tonnes per load instead of one, transportation costs are minimised

A roll packer will typically offer a 5 to 1 compaction ratio: for every tonne you managed to fit in a container before, you can now get 5, saving transportation costs and maximising available rebates.

Transportation Cost Savings

Here are our calculations:

  • Typical containers hold 2 tonnes of wood.
  • Typical transportation costs might be £150 per lift
  • Typical disposal costs might be £70 per tonne

2 collections per week

  • Transportation: £15,600
  • Disposal cost: £14,560
  • Savings resulting from a roll packer installation (assuming a conservative 8-tonne collection): £11,700

That’s a reduction in transportation costs from £15,600 to £3,900

4 collections per week

  • Transportation cost: £31,200
  • Disposal cost: £29,120
  • Savings resulting from a roll packer installation (assuming a conservative 8-tonne collection): £13,000

That’s a reduction in transportation costs from £31,200 to £7,800

Based upon these figures, a roll compactor can pay for itself very quickly. On a rental, the machine can be cashflow positive immediately.

See the image below to show how effective a roll compactor can be.
